The piece is an homage the song Habanera from the opera Carmen. In the opera the woman character is playing with her life which fight for her love and attention. 

She is believing that she could like her. But this is that just dream in her mind.

So whatever she does, she never make it what she want to be.

I think everybody has this feeling in own life.

We have a lot of challenge, and fighting everday.

And she never give up to try. Her fantasy doesn’t stop!

It makes us feel cheer and support. Even give us happiness.

Love is like a bird,,,, Love , for her is desire which she can’t never get it….

Also I try to find new expression called sounds effect without sound.

I try to create this piece that everybody can have a fun!  

 

この作品はオペラカルメンに出てくる“カルメン”の美しさ、強さ、自由さ、魅力などにあこがれた女性に焦点を当てています。カルメンの魅力に憑りつかれ、自分もカルメンであると思いこんだ女性。しかし、それは彼女の頭の中の“ファンタジー“でしかなく、美しいと思えば乳が垂れ、強いと思えば床は崩れ、自由と思えば身体が機械の様に錆び、魅力的だと思えば誰も見ていない。と、一見悲劇的ですが、そんな事で揺るぐ彼女ではありません。彼女のカルメン“ファンタジー”はどこまでも広がっていきます。つまり、いくら上手くいかなくとも決してあきらめることはないのです。次から次の手を繰り出していきます。その姿は滑稽であると同時にどこまでも自分を貫く幸福感をも感じさせます。 楽曲「habanera」は日本語で“恋は野の鳥”と訳され、恋は鳥の様に自由で捉えられないものと歌っています。まさに彼女の事であり、“恋＝彼女の欲“は捉えようのないものであるという意味も込め、カルメンの中でもこの曲を選び、タイトルとしてLove Is Like a Birdとしました。 また身体表現においては、何度ゲームオーバになってもトライするゲームキャラクターから発想を得ており、人間味を抑えた機械的な動きや、視覚的エフェクトを体を通してみせる新たな身体的特殊エフェクトについて模索した作品です。 今作品は身体表現の可能性を模索したとともにコンテンポラリーダンスってよくわからないといわれる時代で、誰でも楽しむことができる幅の広い作品を創ることに重点を置きました。
